American framed needle work sampler by Seraphina Learned (c. 1800's)American sampler of silk floss on linen with a modest zig zag border framing an uppercase letter alphabet, followed by a cursive alphabet, a lower case alphabet, and the numerals one thru nine. The makers name and birth date are given as: Seraphina Learned, born Sept. 30. 1805, preceded by a large upper case letters, A B C D. The lower third of the sampler is given over to a basket of flowers flanked by trailing strawberries. The work has an archival
